"Rock the Tabla" will be a fusion of musical genres that will bring together a constellation of some of the brightest rock, R&B, and pop stars in the South Asian American and Canadian music scenes.

Zerobridge

It's not often you hear about a band like Zerobridge. Lead singer/guitarist and songwriter Mubashir "Din" Mohi-ud-Din and drummer Mohsin "Mo" Mohi-ud-Din are two brothers, whose parents are from the disputed territory of Kashmir, nestled between northern India and Pakistan. Greg "The Quota," seasoned NYC bass player, rounds out the trio who have been playing their own unique brand of melodic, guitar driven rock n' roll for the last three years. With two independent releases behind them, Zerobridge released their latest EP in 2007.

Tabla Guy - Gurpreet Chana

Gurpreet Chana has been learning and performing tabla for the past 27 years. He has been mesmerizing crowds with tabla fusion in genres ranging from Canadian/American folk music, hip–hop, soul, house, jazz, orchestral, flamenco, and the journey and collaborations continue. Producers, Choreographers, Composers, and Directors from the Dance, Theatre, Film, and Music worlds are constantly bringing Gurpreet into their realm to tap into his skills and talents. He has recorded with Grammy award winning artists Nelly Furtado and Wyclef Jean. He has performed live with many artists including Juno Award winner Kiran Ahluwalia, The Bombay Dub Orchestra, Rosina Kazi LAL, Jennie Laws, Drew Rouse, Jorane, and opened for artists such as Lady Sovereign, Pete Rock, and DJ Rekha.

Shobha

Born of Indian descent, Shobha's interest in musical "flavors" drew her to diverse sounds from Jamaica to the Bronx. With the help of Dammien Alexander and Howard Beye of Live Village Records, Shobha sought to realize a debut album that captures the vision of who she is and who she will be. Shobha teamed up with the award-winning Toronto/L.A based production team jACK. Starting with a writing session in Los Angeles, Shobha unlocked moments of true magic with her debut R&B album. Shobha is an artist of vision, truth and, as her name means in East Indian, grace.

Jungli

The literal meaning of the word Jungli stemming from the Sanksrit word for “ jungle “ is defined as one who is wild, or in their natural & primal state of being. The music of Jungli embodies just that. The spirit of freedom of expression and the spirit of understanding one’s own nature.

The South Asian, East African, Canadian Born, Oklahoma, raised Jungli girl, calls the streets of Brooklyn, New York City home. She has been performing music since 2003. Since then she has rapped at Carnegie Hall, made her milkshake bring all the boys to the yard on the SNL soundstage, brought Miami’s Art Basel to their knees, and played just about every rock and roll hole in the wall and bourgeois venue NYC has to offer. Jungli has also performed to benefit the likes of Amnesty International & Artwallah. In 2007 she released her album That [GIRL] and moved to LA. She now returns to New York with YOUR DIL!

Interval Music by DJ Wonder

DJ Wonder spins every Friday at industry nightspot, Manor in Manhattan. At Manor, he sways the crowd as he plays throwbacks like "Everything She Wants" by Wham and "Me, Myself and I" by De La Soul. His first mix was "Hip-Hop is Dead" released in 2002, and several more have followed, garnering a strong following from hip-hop devotees in NYC and beyond.

Bhavna is the host of national TV-network "Namaste America." A former Miss India New York and finalist for Asian Worldwide Supermodels Contest in 2001, Bhavna has since worked for leading fashion designers and starred in TV commercials and independent films. Bhavna lends her time to emcee social and charitable events for organizations such as the IFC's Miss India Pageants, Lend-A-Hand India, and Pratham USA. Currently, she is also pursing an MBA part-time at NYU and is an investment specialist at a leading global investment firm.
