In Pakistan, at the detriment of justice, facts often become secondary to perception, lies, deceit, and bureaucracy. This is a sad and perilous road for a country that, based on its religious values, should be leading the world on high moral ground.
The stories of DIL children are inspiring. They tell us that Pakistan is a country where bonds of friendship are deeper than anywhere in the world. It is a land that makes you feel an allegiance to its values, its culture, and its people. These children highlight the sights, the sounds, and the scents we too often ignore in our busy adult lives. Enlightened moderation cannot simply be dictated from above. It will have to take root below, and for that to happen, we need to share the gift of education with Pakistan’s future generation.
