Board members
Originally from Los Angeles, Talib graduated with honors from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he majored in finance and accounting. Post graduation, Talib worked in finance as an analyst with UBS Investment Bank in Los Angeles. After 2 years with UBS, he moved into Private Equity, where he worked for Apollo Management in Los Angeles and focused on retail, food retail and consumer products companies. After four years at Apollo, Talib joined his family textile business, International Trading Company, a manufacturer, importer and distributor of towel and linens products. Talib has been involved with DIL for many years. Most recently, he has spent 2 years working as the Co-Head of the Los Angeles chapter, then joined the YOUR DIL national team in 2009, serving as the Director of Finance, Vice President-Operations and now President.
Originally from Ohio, Tahira attended The Ohio State University, graduating in 2005 with a degree in finance and minor in science. Following graduation, she worked for Ernst & Young’s Financial Services Advisory practice, focusing on operational change in investment banks. In 2007 Tahira joined Perry Capital where she continues to work as a credit research analyst. Tahira has been involved with YOUR DIL since 2006, beginning as a volunteer and Board Member of the New York City chapter, and most recently as the YOUR DIL National Director of Finance in 2010. Tahira is currently the YOUR DIL National Vice President.
Spending the first few years of his life in Kuwait, London, and Pakistan, Jassim was raised in Manhattan Beach, California. He took a quick trip up coast to attend UC Berkeley, graduating with a degree in economics and city planning. Shortly thereafter, he founded and managed an advertising-supported directory assistance start up with a global presence in London, Lahore, and Los Angeles. He now works on the Android Business Development team at Google, focusing on their Market ecosystem. Jassim has been invovled with YD since 2007, starting the San Francisco chapter before joining the national board.

Ahmed Hamid grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan and Karachi, Pakistan. He attended the University of Michigan Business School, after which he worked as an investment banker at JPMorgan. He currently works at a credit opportunities and acquisition finance shop in New York. Ahmed has been involved with YOUR DIL since 2005, led the New York chapter during 2009 and joined the YOUR DIL National Board in 2010. He is currently the Director of Development for the YOUR National Board.

Saad focuses on growth equity investments across a wide range of sectors at Norwest Venture Partners (NVP) including information technology, business services, financial services and consumer. Prior to joining NVP, Saad was an Associate in the West Region Advisory investment banking group at Goldman, Sachs & Co. where he focused on a number of private and public consumer retail, general industrials and healthcare companies. Prior to joining Goldman, Sachs & Co., Saad was an Analyst in the Leveraged Finance investment banking group of Jefferies & Company, Inc. where he worked on debt financings, leveraged buyouts and strategic advisory assignments. Saad holds a Bachelor of Science degree, with honors, in Business Administration with a concentration in Corporate Finance from the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business. Saad grew up in Pakistan and moved to the United States when he was 13 years old. Saad has been involved DIL for many years and most recently with the Los Angeles and San Francisco boards. He is currently the Director of Finance for the YOUR DIL National Board.
Nida Shekhani | Director of Internal Affairs | affairs@yourdil.org
Nida grew up in Saudi Arabia and spent several years in Bahrain, Austin, Dubai and Karachi before moving to New York to attend Columbia University. After graduating with a Master of Public Health Policy and Management, she began working at New York-Presbyterian (NYP) Hospital in Strategy and International Business Development. She currently works in Revenue Cycle Finance at NYP. Nida has been involved with YOUR DIL since 2006 and led the New York Chapter in 2010. She is currently the Director of Internal Affairs for the YOUR DIL National Board.
Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Aimee attended University of Southern California and graduated with a B.S. in Business in 2006. She moved back up to San Francisco shortly after and joined Google’s Direct Sales Team. There she consulted some of Google’s top advertisers, providing strategic guidance and analysis of their advertising programs. Aimee left in 2011 to attend Apparel Arts in San Francisco where she is studying Apparel Construction and Design. Her involvement with Developments in Literacy began in 2003 when she volunteered her time vetting potential foundations and grants. She has since worked with DIL in a number of capacities including business planning, securing and managing Google Grants, joining the YOUR DIL SF chapter as co-head in 2010 and most recently joining the YOUR DIL National Board as the Director of Marketing.
